Re – 2024 Western Division Cycling Championships
Hi All, Just bit of an Update of the 2024 Western Division Cycling Champs. As Normal we hope to have: -
1 Road Race (& ITT if Possible)
2 Junior Champs if possible
3 an Esports Championship – which is run in conjunction with the final round of the Auscycling National club series.
4 the Track Championships are not held consistently but are available if a club wishes to host the carnival
DETAILS
Senior Champs:
In recent years the WD Champs have just been included in the Club Racing Program and Permissions, this will again be the case in 2024. Dubbo held the titles last year so we are expecting that the titles will be held in Bathurst this year – (yet if Orange or Mudgee can host the championships, we would encourage them to organise it).
While the Road Race is the feature event it is likely an ITT title will also be held, but given it needs to fit into the club racing permissions, these events will be on separate weekends.
Generally, the Road Champs are held in Sept however with Amy’s Ride (World’s Qualifier) and the Junior & Masters Nationals in Sept, may push the WD Titles back to Oct – stay tuned for a proposed date soon.
Junior Champs:
The junior western division championship is not only dependent only on the calendar and race permissions but also the availability of course etc – a bit more investigation required yet.
Esports Champs:
The Western Division Esports Championship has been held since the covid lock-down in 2021, with the 4th championship to be held on 1st August 2024 – in conjunction with Round 6 Auscycling Club Esports Series on the Innsbruckring circuit.

Western Division Road Championships - Bathurst. 24/8/24.
Bathurst CC played host to the junior Western Division time trial, road race and criterium championships at Mt Panorama on Saturday morning. Then Saturday afternoon the seniors raced their graded scratch road championships around the Old Vale Circuit. The juniors also combined the day with their club championships and added the hill climb in as well.
