Bx Tri Club Junior Committee Meeting
Club House - 12/09/2024.
Present - Jessie, Candice, Kirralee, Doug & Mark
Note - minutes not necessary here, (as committee minutes can be just emailed to the next full club meeting correspondence) - however these notes are supplied as the President was involved.

General Business
1General discussion on the way the committee fits & functions in the structure - Clubs Junior Coordinators Jessie (1) and Candice (2) and Junior Committee members Kirralee & Doug
2“Proposed” Race dates and details identified. (club waits for final approvals).
We are planning to run a duathlon in late October to start the season, while there will be junior events at this event the Junior Program will officially start with a Triathlon Skills Event at the Pool in November which should prepare our younger triathletes for the coming race events. Junior Triathlons will be held with the Senior events in December at the popular Teams Triathlon, then the Aussie Day Triathlon in January and at the Carrol Scott Memorial Triathlon in February.
3While the Junior committee is planning to continue with the three development categories (Joeys and Boomers1 & 2) this summer, this season will require compliance with the new Safe Child Standards, so the junior committee is hard at work putting plans in place.
4 Junior Committee waits for final approvals for events to begin promoting the season
NOTE – jess to update these notes if required

Attached is a Summary of the Notes from Jessie on the first Junior Committee Meeting
Junior Meeting minutes 12/09/2024 - attendees- jessie, candice, doug and Kirralee.
- proposed dates were agreed. 26/10 duathlon, 24/11 skills day, 22/12, 26/1, 16th/2.
- skills day- could ride/ run around the river, could use the car park for bike skills, should be a fee involved.
- to make counting bike laps on race day more accurate and easier for counters, kids should say name and the lap they're on. this should be developed on skills day.
- our overall goals are to increase the number of participants and to assist with this we may look at promoting and supporting NSW All Schools triathletes and may ask young achievers like Mercedes to come and work with the kids. We could look at contacting WRAS coach Tristan Harrison to see whether he might support us.
- when taking photos, if one person does so they should ask the young person and their adult whether their photo can appear on social media.
- provide some clarification around Joey's and Boomer's and circulate via social media.
- promote upcoming junior events on social media.
In response to Mark's email
Event 1 - concerns about how this event may not be the friendliest reintroduction
Event 2 - is helping our young people to become more confident in each discipline and should be very achievable for people of any ability and experience in triathlon – extra Notes on each leg supplied
Event 3 4 & 5 – Jess to start a google doc and share it with the Junior Committee where we can share ideas about our club's adoption of the Child Safety Standards. Also require Set-up committee provide some details

July 2024 - Breakdown of Club Executive
Jul 26, 2024 - Gavin
Hey all, we haven't had any discussion on a meeting when I'm home next, How I see it, as it stands Bathurst wallabies are going to struggle to deliver this season and beyond.
1. Claire has stood down as treasurer as of the AGM.
2. I have stood down as president.
3. The last meeting had only 5 attended.
I know everyone is extremely busy but I think we do need to meet up whilst I'm back next or the club can meet whenever.
If we have no direction moving forward then I will have to notify tri NSW that Bathurst wallabies will not be running rounds this season and that is the last thing I want to see.
If anyone knows of anyone who would like to join the committee, Then invite them in as this committee is filled with amazing people but we do just need to make some decisions.
I am home from the 10th august then leave again the 19th. (I'm unavailable the 11th).

Jul 26, 2024 - Jessie-Rose
In light of some of our most loyal and giving committee members stepping down due to personal reasons, Bathurst Wallabies need YOU! Without more committee members, we fear that we will be unable to carry out our 2024/2025 season. Our current committee is friendly, helpful, passionate about our sport and are just all-round legends. If you have some time to offer, no matter how small, we would appreciate it.
We will meet on August 17th at 4pm at the Clubhouse to discuss the upcoming season in the hope that we can work together to make it go ahead. Please join us and be part of your favourite sporting community in Bathurst
We acknowledge the outgoing committee members for the valued contributions they’ve made to our community and thank them for their ongoing guidance as we look to fill their very big shoes.

Sun, Jul 28 - Mark Windsor -- Re Special Meeting on 17 Aug 2024
To Claire & existing Executive --
Discussion - Gav I could fill in Pro-Term as president till he returns/or when the meeting sets new officials (including their responsibilities and duties).
Couple of things –
1 if someone else would like to do the Presidents Role Pro-term (ie until the club formally appoints someone) let me know urgently. (let say by Sunday Night).
2 if anyone can assist with the Treasurer role pro-term again let me know
3 Will chase up the issues minuted at meetings in June & July.. check progress
4 Now sorry I am not that good or connectable on Facebook & Messenger..
5 I guess this Will/Could mean a review and update of the FaceBook Site as the Management control site for the Club.
6 Been chasing up the Tri Clubs constitution details – does seem to by ModelRules but is anyone aware of any attached By laws or Guidelines.

1Treasurer’s report
Claire to attach report.
Club position- numbers are still down since covid. Also this year in
comparison to last were down slightly, but we did have one cancelled
round.
Funds are Lower than the beginning of the year. But we did have big
purchases, new club bikes and new merchandise.
We received a $1500 for Triathlon NSW.
Also Gavin will all his hard work managed to secure a $4000 grant from
NSW Office of Sport.
Rising cost particularly traffic control is making it very hard to get ahead.
Roughly $1500 a round.

2 - President’s report
Report to be attached. Key Points:
Gavin First full year as president. Has decided to do for another, but has
asked that we have more support from the committee.
Wanting all committee members to be trained in all areas so work load can
be divided.
Very grateful for all our sponsors this year without them the club wouldn’t be
able to run.
Very excited to announce that we have received The $4000 grant, and
would like to invest some of the money towards training some of the
committee into the Tri NSW foundation program or beyond.
Club numbers were good particularly the junior.
Interclub we were in a very good 2 nd position up till the last round where we
unfortunately drop back to 3 rd .
We had some fantastic individual results representing the club in Ironmans,
Huskisson, UTA, and Port Mac.
4 Members have qualified for the 2024 world triathlon championships in
Townsville in August. Well done Gavin Borg, Mark Windsor, Danielle
Patterson and Mercede Cornelius-Feltus.

promote them as special rounds. Eg. Country state.
• Inquire about use of the Dam as an option x2 rounds.
• Inquire also about Scotts All Saints.
• Changing the first round of the season to a duathlon at the mount.
Will be a roster for each round, so that it is not the same people each round setting
up.
Big emphasis on getting all of the committee and even some member trained.
Looking into a new timing system, Rego Platform, financial platform.
Maybe making rounds prepaid, so will can lock in numbers.
