2021 Renshaw’s Pedal Project Road Series
Round 2 of the 2021 Renshaw’s Pedal Project Road Series today in Bathurst with 4 separate grades racing on the 25kms TwoRoads Course.
2020 Bathurst Time Trial champ Simon Hickey won the A Grade event defeating Nic Barrett, Jack Cannon and Mark Windsor in the sprint with Blue Mountains rider Ian Grant taking 5th place in front of Stuart Renshaw who had mechanical problems during the event.
Steve Bennett attacked early in the B Grade race but the field came back together for a sprint finish which David Reece won from Ray Thorn and Tony Shaw with young gun Cadel Lovett and Steve Bennett rounding out the top 5.
Damien Bennett made it two from two in the second round of the C Grade series when he defeated Rob Stephen and Phil Stapleton with Glen Carter nursing an injury in fourth
D Grade was the biggest field of the day and featured some aggressive racing with Blue Mountains rider Kevin Bell and young Charlotte Lovett breaking clear in the event to fight out the finish, with Charlotte an impressive winner. Strong riding David Hyland chased the pair home in 3rd place with Peter Hickey and Cathy Adams rounding out the top 5, in front of Brooke Tuynman, Rosemary Hastings, Lara and Scott Allen with Bec O’Connor taking 10th place in front of Lithgows Robyn Partridge
