2021 "Private Isaac E Maher" Anzac Trophy Race
The 2021 Anzac Trophy Race was held in honour of Bathurst Club Member Private Isaac E Maher of the 54th Battalion who died on the Great War's Western Front in June 1917. The weekends event started with a presentation on Private Isaac E Maher who enlisted after the Cooee March came through the village of Evans Plains. All then paused for a minute silence for Private Maher (and all the other club members involved in WW1).

This year’s 2021 Isaac Maher Anzac Memorial Race won by Michael Robinson from the 13min mark. Robinson actually won the Anzac Days sister race on Remembrance Day back in 2013 and has always been very respectful of the Cycling Clubs history at the World Wars. Robinson had worked well with 13minute co markers Kevin Bell and Claire Scott to catch the front marker before making his winning move 2kms from the finish.

Robinson defeated 2016 winner Scott Allen off 20min and Kevin Bell from 13minutes handicap, with 16 minute riders Peter Hickey and David Hyland rounding out the top five in front of Peter Tutty (20min).

First female finisher was Lara Allen (20min) in 7th overall, while second in the female category was Donna Scott (11min) followed in by Rosemary Hastings (20min), Charlotte Lovett (11min) and Jille Harris (11min).

1995 Anzac Trophy winner Rob Stephen (6min) showed he still a contender in the annual event, finishing 8th overall in front of co marker Damien Bennett with Gary Thiess rounding out the top 10.

The race for fastest time was a dramatic affair with lone scratch marker Craig Hutton set a very tough task of chasing a strong Block Bunch (which include Dubbo female national champ Simon Grounds) off 1min15sec start by himself. It was a tight contest for the first half of the race, however then when Barrett, Windsor, Cannon and Lovett caught the 2minute bunch which included former club champions Steve Bennett and Brad Rayner the odds were stacked against Hutton and young Cadel Lovett would go on to claimed the Fastest Time honours ahead of Mark Windsor with Jack Cannon third fastest in front of Nick Barrett.
