2018 Bathurst Criteriums
« on: April 19, 2018, 02:10:34 AM »
Bathurst Criteriums always full of action:
The Mens and Womens Div 1 Bathurst Criteriums are a highlight of the Bathurst Cycling Classic Weekend and this year all events will be contested in the heart of Bathurst at King's Parade

Many top class events have been held on the King's Parade course including the NSW GP Series and The Tooheys Series, which brought top international riders to the Bathurst CBD.

Both the Elite Mens and U23s Criterium State champions, Cameron Roberts (Goulburn) and Kai Chapman (who also won the recent Newcastle Orica Crit) will be in actions at the Division 1 Mens Criterium where the speed be on from the start. However it will be the very strong Australian Cycling Academy Team and in particular regular Bathurst visitor Cameron Scott who will be worth watching, an amazing track rider, already this year he has picked up a UCI Continental win on the road in the New Zealand Cycle Classic.

The Sydney Uni Velo Club look to have a strong hold on the division 1 Womens race, with Jennifer Darmody, Emma Roberts, Emily Watts and current NSW Champion Georgia Whitehouse all racing the event. Local rider Emily Watts was the most aggressive rider in last years Womenís event won by Kirsten Howard (who incidentally canít ride as it clashes with her Rugby Game). So the dilemma for riders such as Simone Grounds it will be difficult to break the Sydney Uni Velo hold on the race.
