2018 Womens Road Premiership Bathurst Weekend

Record fields for Bathurst 2018 Womens Road Premiership Bathurst Weekend:

3 Rounds of the Women Road Premierships will be run in Bathurst this weekend (24th & 25th March 2018) with record numbers participating.

Around 70 female riders will contest the 2 day event which starts with a Kermese event on Saturday morning followed by an Individual Time Trial then concluding with a Road Race on the Sunday

At least 8 local Bathurst riders will be contesting the event consisting of Cathy Adams, Toireasa Gallagher, Jillene Harris, Rosemary Hastings, Kirsten Howard, Jette McKellar, Laura Renshaw and former Bathurst club rider Vanessa Benett who along with Howard and Renshaw would be amoung the favorites in the top grade.

Top Dubbo rider Simone Grounds will also be in contention at the event and will be joined by Haylee Fuller and Heather Ticehurst. While the impressive Christine Wolfson and Susan Bonar lead the Orange contingent.

Brief Results from Bathurst Female Road Series Events
Local Central West Cyclists performed well in the Individual Time Trial event at the Bathurst Women Road Series Weekend with current Masters National Champion recording a fast time to take out the A Grade event.
Top Orange Athlete Christine Wolfson defeated former NSW Masters Champ Jillene Harris in the B Grade with former National Open Womens Podium Placer Toireasa Gallagher defeating Amanda Jones in C Grade.
While Sydney Rider Tanya Gerold was too good for the D Grades recording a solid win over Joanne Vanderstok and locals Rosemary Hastings and Cathy Adams.

Day 2 - Early Update from Bathurst Road Races - Round 4 Nsw Womens Road Series
Brief Report - Early Reports from out on the Course
A Grade - Bathurst’s Kirsten Howard breaks clear at the mid way stage of the Road Race at the Bathurst Womens Road Series an looks set for an impressive win in A Grade. Dubbo’s Simone Grounds and Lisa Antill are chasing Kirsten.

B Grade - Local Bathurst rider Jill Harris has broken clear with a Sydney Uni Velo rider believed to be Marissa Madden with the pair expected to fight it out for the win. Bathurst Kalinda Robinson is in the chase group and would be favourite for the third placing given her national Junior Sprint Ranking.

In C Grade after solid riders on Day 1 Emily May looks to have won the C Grade Road Race

D Grade – After wins in both events on Day 1 young Manly rider Tanya Gerold was the hot favourite for the D Grade. Tanya defeating a Moit Rider (sorry details to follow) and Joanne Vanderstok in third place.

Men’s Support Event – 30km Handicap
Backmarkers (Josh Corcoran Bard Rayner Mark Windsor) rode through the field to catching the fast moving race leaders with half a lap to go on the legendary Old Vale Road Circuit. However Rob Stephens and State ranked Junior Ben Anderson joined the trio to form a 5 man lead group on the hills before the finish. Pre race Favourite Josh Corcoran defeating Bard Rayner in the sprint to the line with the very impressing Ben Anderson third in front of Mark Windsor with Steveo a few more seconds back in 5th
